To setup quickly a NIS server, just check NISDOMAIN in the file: /etc/clusterserver.conf, and launch the setup_nis.pl script.

Two scripts can be used have to add or del a user: deluserNis.pl adduserNis.pl. So just run the adduserNis.pl, answer the question, and your user will be ready to be used on all nodes of your cluster. If you want to delete an user, use the deluserNis script, and it will check if the user is used on a node, and won't delete him until all node umount the home user.
